Chervono-Chorne Tarot - Sola Skorso Pentagram Publishing (Indie Import)

Nowadays, there are many multi-colored Tarot decks and no less monochrome ones. We wanted to create something in between − to use only two colors, or rather three if we take into account the white background. Chervono-Chorne Tarot is a modern version of the classic A.E. Waite deck represented in only two colors − red and black. The imagery is very close to the classical tarot cards, but the entourage references Ancient Greece. The personages wear tunics and laurel wreaths, and mane cards feature elements of ancient architecture. The Minor Arcana are made more concisely, while the Major Arcana are more detailed. The author believes that the most important is the person, especially the facial expression, so the personages are given a more detailed representation, whereas the landscapes are schematic. All the characters have red circles on their cheeks to attract the viewer’s attention. By the way, the word Chervono-Chorne means red-black in Ukrainian.
