Shaman drums are unique instruments that are an integral part of shamanic ceremonies and meditation. The drum membranes are made of leather (rawhide), which makes them very sensitive to temperature and humidity. Because of this, the tension of the skin and thus the pitch or sound of the drum can change. High humidity can temporarily weaken the sound of the drum, while in freezing weather the membrane can become very tight.

When choosing a solid film, you have to adapt to the elements of the environment. In a fixed shaman drum, the membrane is stretched directly with leather strips. The tension of the membrane can be changed gently by heating it with a hair dryer or a damp cloth or with your own saliva.

Adjustable shaman drums are especially suitable for thinner skins. Diaphragm tension can be easily adjusted using tabs to match changing weather conditions, making these drums ideal for our variable climate. The membrane is fixed between two iron rings to be stretched. This iron makes the drum heavier. Such drums have a membrane on both sides, the pitch of which is different, which enables communication with the upper and lower worlds. The resonance of the closed space is increased, producing a powerful and distinctive sound. The drums are perfect for group use.

Shaman drums are often used in (trance) dance and meditation. They are easy to handle and carry by hand with the handle.
