Prophet of the New Age - The Collected Writings of Aleister Crowley
We live in a time where we believe we are freer than ever, but where outside parties are trying to influence our behavior more than ever before. Being the subject of a constant flood of information through mass communication tools, we are exposed to the influence of both advertisers and other opinion makers, often without realizing it. Aleister Crowley's magic can be seen as a way to take power back to yourself and start deprogramming yourself from the influence of others. It is a way of changing oneself from an object of influence to an influencer who does not passively follow the course of the world, but actively realizes his true Will.
MA Meretvuo, editor of the book
Aleister Crowley, poet, mountaineer, painter, occultist - a man who has been described as a genius and prophet of the new age, but also as "the worst man in the world". Biographies, articles, studies, plays and films have been written about him. But wouldn't it be better to familiarize yourself with Crowley's own writings and form your own understanding of a person whose influence on our culture is only gradually coming to light?
This collection of translations contains 22 of Crowley's writings: the most important are the Book of the Law, which began in 1904, and four other texts called "Holy Books" of Thelema, as well as essays commenting and explaining them, through which Crowley sought to clarify the effects of the new Law on both the individual and societal levels. At the end of the book is a series of rituals and exercises, with which the individual is supposed to find the means to implement the Law in his own, unique life.
