It tells about the legendary room forged by the gods that contains all the knowledge of humanity, Rutaimo. The road there goes through Ylisen from Kultala and through Alise from Tuonela.

The great winter has weakened King Jompainen's kingdom. In order to keep his nation, teetering on the brink of civil war, united, he equips an army whose purpose is to usurp Rutaimo's eternal happiness and abundance. He recruits a mediocre sorcerer, the mysterious Rautio and a shepherd who has lost his memory to join him on the fateful journey.

Juha "Sähkö-Väinämöinen" Jyrkäs' black-talking, carnival-style horror poem about the dark side of man ends the Kultala trilogy, the previous parts of which were Sleep time (2015) and Ouramoinen (2014). The background of Rutaimo is perhaps the most well-known story of Finnish folklore, sampo, which has hardly ever been seen in such an oblique light before. The result is a different fantasy story.
