New Bloom Lapis Lazuli Necklace Egypt
Jewelry based on adaptations of ancient jewelry styles became very popular in Europe in the mid-1800s. The Castellani workshop in Naples, visited by Henry Walters in 1909, was famous for this style of jewelry. Featuring genuine lapis lazuli cabochons and beads, our Egyptian Revival collection is inspired by a necklace that was made in Castellani's workshop. In ancient Egypt, lapis lazuli was highly valued as a symbol of its heavenly origin and truth. The original necklace was made of gold with engraved gemstone cabochons.
Materials: lapis lazuli cabochon and pewter with gold finish, lobster clasp.
Length: 18 inches (approx. 46 cm). A gift box is included in the package.
This piece of jewelry belongs to the collections of the Walters Art Gallery.
