Yooperlites belong to the same family as sodalite, but are just richer and grayer versions of syenite. Known for its orange UV reaction, this stone was originally discovered in Michigan. Yooperlite's other name (Emberlite) is Tulikivi. Because yooperlite is a syenite, it is an intrusive igneous rock with a coarse-grained internal structure and a general composition similar to that of granite, but with less quartz.

Due to the fluorescent nature of Yooperlite, it is often associated with spiritual enlightenment and inner awareness. Its metaphysical properties link to the third eye and crown chakras, promoting spiritual growth and intuitive understanding.
