This Might Hurt Tarot (4th print) - Isabella Rotman
The 4th edition didn't really bring anything new to the pack. A little fine-tuning in terms of paper quality, that's it!
A great representative of modern Tarot - This Might Hurt Tarot
The TMH Tarot is a modern version of the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
Designed by Isabella Rotman and illustrated by the super talented Duke Addison, the deck respects the symbolism and imagery of RWS. However, the deck fast-forwards to modern times, leaving the medieval Tarot connections behind, as the scenery and clothing are modernized in the deck. This Might Hurt Tarot is easy to read and at the same time delightfully relatable, thanks to the modern context. Queer visual art emerges delightfully in the pack, and the illustrations of the packs respect diversity.
The cards are 90 x 55 mm in size and printed on top quality 250 gsm matte art paper. Each card has a shiny hologram 'gilding', or well not really gilding as the options are magical mother of pearl or black, either way the cards are a stunning sight. Just looking at the cards, you feel a little bit of magic in the air.
The card storage case is also great. A thick cardboard case with a super stylish magnetic closure mechanism. The prints are decorated with gold foil. The whole is crowned by a guide booklet with the author's introduction to the use of the cards and a description of each card.
You can get the deck from us with both finishes, and as an additional option you can order the sides of the deck with a tarot cloth designed for this.
Like most Tarot cards, this deck contains the Major Arcana (22 cards) and the Minor Arcana (56 cards). All cards of the Major Arcana and one of the cards of the Minor Arcana depict real people from the deck creator Isabella's own life. He describes the making of the deck as a happy process and hopes that this will be passed on to the deck's users as well.
