Kimo takes his readers along on his research trip to Kainuu's raven forests, the kingdom of beasts. Over the centuries, countless stories have been told about giant beasts. They still arouse respect and fear, even hatred in us. On Kimmo's journey, we get to follow the life of beasts from a close distance, we meet wolves, Wolves and numerous other inhabitants of the forest. However, the center of the story is the king of the forest himself, with whom Kimmo has been able to spend many nights in the twilight of the raven forest.

Alongside the bear stories is Kimmo's own life story with its painful themes. The forest became Kimmo's refuge as a child. Now, as an adult, Kimmo returns to the forests of his childhood and the circle closes.
