100% pure and natural virgin oil obtained by cold pressing from the seeds of the Oenothera biennis plant. Originally from North America, evening primrose oil has been used externally and as an infusion for its many medicinal benefits. According to its Greek etymology, oinos (wine) and thêr (wild animal) gave it the power to tame wild animals when its root was dipped in wine. Today, the flowers are present in most temperate climates and belong to the Onagraceae family. They were brought back to European botanists in 1614. The flowers appear as yellow flowers on a stem about a meter long and open in a few minutes at nightfall. When ripe, they contain several hundred black seeds (especially Oenothera biennis L and Oenothera erythrosepala Borb.), which are cold-pressed and filtered to extract the oil.
