Tingshat (ding-shat, cymbals), for use at regular intervals in meditation to maintain focus or in conjunction with sound bowl relaxation.

### For what purposes can I use tingsho?
When you strike the hand-held cymbals together, they produce a beautiful, clear and high-pitched sound that clears the air and creates extraordinary silence. The tingsho's shrill note immediately resonates in one's heart. Their purpose is to invite, raise awareness, remind us of who we are and identify our priorities in this often turbulent and delusional world. When they are hung horizontally and struck together, a pleasant, oscillating sound wave seems to travel between them, creating an impressive symphony of evocative sounds.

### Tingsha and Feng Shui
Tingshos are also used in Feng Shui to purify the energy of a room and "open" it by playing the tingshos in the four corners of the room. This is an excellent way to clear energy when, for example, burning incense is not possible or appropriate.

### Tingshat and healing voice
In connection with healing or balancing aura fields, cymbals are also used to determine the beginning and end of a meditation period. Some say that using tingshas is like an invitation that brings our awareness to the present moment.

### Storage of tingshos
As with many altar gifts, we recommend storing tingshas wrapped in cloth when not in use, or in a special tingsha brocade case with two compartments.

### Decorations of Tingsho
The casting may include decoration on the upper surfaces - usually dragons, the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" or Buddhist symbols such as the Tibetan eight lucky signs. However, many tingshas are simple and unadorned, allowing the beauty of their sound to fully emerge.

### Composition of Tingsho
Each tingsha is cast individually as a sand casting and are typically made primarily of brass (a metal alloy consisting primarily of copper and zinc) or bronze (an alloy primarily of copper and tin). While both sound beautiful, bronze cymbals produce an even stronger harmonic resonance that vibrates more deeply through every fiber of your soul.
