Skull in a glass dome - Curated Studio
Curated Studios' insects and fossils are all ethically sourced from various conservation projects around the world and help supporting local communities and protecting the diversity of nature and the natural habitats of insects.
The insects are framed in museum quality and are UV protected.
The image shown is an example of the quality you can expect. Please note that as the products are 100% genuine and natural, size, shape and color may vary between individuals.
The skull glider is most easily recognized by its large size and the somewhat human-like shape on its back
from a skull -like pattern. The forewings have a brown base color. They have some patterning that acts as a protective coloring, of which the light transverse stripes and a white discoidal spot stand out best. The hindwings are bright yellow with dark transverse stripes. The wingspan is 94–118 mm in males and 107–131 mm in females, i.e. the species corresponds to the smallest birds in size.
This Death's Head Moth (Acherontia Atropos) has been hand set by our expert entomologists in our studio and mounted in a museum quality bell jar. All of our display cases use museum grade 99% UV blocking conservation glass to preserve our specimens, and are supported by a Bespoke wooden base. All of our specimens are ethically sourced from conservation projects around the world and help to support local communities and protect natural habitats. Please be advised that given the natural origin of our insects, they may exhibit size variations, resulting in potential differences in the size of the accompanying bell jar. Dimensions: 170mm x 140mm
