This 100% pure and natural essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops of the Origanum compactum plant. Oregano essential oil, also known as "wild marjoram", is extracted from the dense and purple flowering tops. Its scent is reminiscent of thyme and fresh herbs. Originating in the Mediterranean region (France, Morocco, Spain), where it grows naturally, Origanum compactum is different from the Asian garden marjoram. Derived from the Greek words "Oros" (mountain) and "Ganos" (joy), the name means "adornment of the mountains", as it beautifies the sides of dry mountain slopes. Previously used to flavor beer, today oregano is described as tomorrow's cleaner. It is an essential oil in aromatherapy!
