Ankh - Key of Life
In ancient Egyptian high culture, the Ankh is known as a symbol of life, but as a general symbol it is also associated with other cultures. Its symbolism is complex. It unites the male and female and therefore has an androgynous energy. The cross represents the lingam and the loop the yoni.
The soul is also androgynous and immortal. In old Egyptian depictions, gods and goddesses are often seen holding the Ankh. This means that God has eternal life, infinite wisdom and power to impart this.
