The book Viking Swords in Finland introduces the reader to the Viking Age in Finland and Europe, to the violent culture and beliefs of the time. For the Vikings, the sword was both a weapon with supernatural properties and a status item and heirloom, the making of which required great skill.
The famous INGELRII and ULFBERHT swords were trademarks of Ragnar Lothbrok and his contemporaries. Were these swords also made in Viking Age Finland, or were they valuable imports?
Mikko Moilanen is an archaeologist and blacksmith specializing in Viking Age swords.
