Aleister Crowley Thoth large cards
The Thoth Tarot was created using cards painted by the famous occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) and Lady Frieda Harris (1877-1962), who interpreted Aleister's ideas into stunning visual designs. The Thoth Tarot took over five years to produce and was first published in 1969, several years after Crowley and Harris' deaths. The pack contains 78 cards and a detailed booklet.
The cards were painted by Lady Frieda Harris under the guidance of occult scholar Aleister Crowley. The stunning art deco work incorporates cabalistic and astrological features as described in Aleister Crowley's Book of Thoth. Thoth's stunning art deco work is rich in Egyptian symbolism. Each of the 22 major trumpets of the Tarot is traditionally assigned a Hebrew letter and a path on the Tree of Life, as well as an astrological sign, element or planet. The deck also reflects Crowley's interest in alchemy and magic. The Crowley Thoth Tarot has attracted worldwide interest due to both its striking beauty and the intricate depiction of its occult knowledge.
