Tingshas featuring the Hindu Ohm symbol, which represents the sound of the universe, as well as the lotus flower, which symbolizes change.

Tingshats (ding-shat, cymbals) are instruments used in spiritual practices and during meditation, played at regular intervals to maintain concentration.

For what purposes can I use tingsho?
When the hand cymbals are struck together, a beautiful, clear, high-pitched sound is created that purifies the air and creates an extraordinary silence. The sparkling sound of the tingshos immediately resonates in the human heart. Their purpose is to call us to awareness, remind us of who we are, and identify our priorities in this often turbulent and misleading world. When the tingshos are held horizontally and struck together, a lovely, undulating sound path is created between them, vibrating at a high frequency and creating its own impressive symphony of sound.

Tingsha and Feng Shui
Tingsho are also used in Feng Shui to cleanse the energy of a room and "open" the space by playing tingshos in the four corners of the room. This is an excellent way to cleanse the energy when burning incense is not possible or appropriate.

Tingshat and healing sound
By healing or balancing the auric field, cymbals are also used to mark the beginning and end of a meditation session. Some say that using the tingsho is like an invitation that brings awareness to the present moment.

The casting may include decoration on the top surface – usually dragons, the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" or Buddhist symbols such as the Tibetan eight auspicious signs. However, many tingshas are simple, and the beauty of their sound speaks for itself.

Each tingsha is individually sand cast and usually made primarily from brass (a metal alloy consisting primarily of copper and zinc) or bronze (an alloy of copper and tin). While both sound beautifully, bronze cymbals produce an even stronger harmonic resonance that resonates deeper into every fiber of your soul.
