In ancient Egypt, cat mummies were offered to the goddess Bastet. Bastet was often depicted as a cat or a woman with the head of a cat or a lioness. During the time of the Greeks and Romans, the worship of Bastet reached its peak. The embossed design of the cat mummy's linen wraps is precise, and the head is naturally shaped.
