100% puhdas ja luonnollinen neitsytöljy, joka saadaan kylmäpuristamalla Prunus Dulcis -mantelit. Mantelipuu kuuluu ruusukasvien (Rosaceae) perheeseen. Sen hedelmässä on yleensä yksi tai kaksi mantelia, joiden öljypitoisuus vaihtelee 50-65% välillä. Vain makeat mantelit ovat syötäviä, katkeranlajikkeen ollessa myrkyllinen. Alun perin kotoisin Aasiasta, manteli on ollut läsnä koko Välimerellä keskiajalta lähtien.
