Elämän kirja - Klaus Rahikainen

The book of life tells about what happens when writer and life researcher Klaus Rahikainen meets a young woman whose sensitive eyes and open face attract him like a black hole or Life Itself? What happens when those two meet in the open sauna of their home village and already on their second sauna together, after rising from the chilling embrace of the open air, they hug warmly on the sauna porch as if they had known each other forever and ever?

And now that guy meets a young woman, and in that meeting all the themes, failures and dreams of Rahikainen's life seem to be condensed. Is it possible that he would finally understand what this human life is really about? Is it possible that that Don Quixote of love had stopped fighting windmills and was finally learning to love? Can Rahikainen really be at the edge of Life's riddle?

The book of Life reveals all this to Rahikainen as well as to his reader. It shows the roots of love and longing in the desperate need of a helpless child to survive, to be seen, touched and nourished. It shows how that child's unmet longing and need is encapsulated in our subconscious and produces this world of ours, where subconscious children pretending to be adults are still waiting for their mother, father, loved one, leaders or society to take care of them. It shows how the squirrel wheel of our society is created when helpless and blind child-adults lead each other "just where it hurts", i.e. from one disaster to another.

The book of life also reveals the sacred adult love that is waiting to be awakened in all of us in the background of the confused thoughts and unfinished emotional experiences of childhood. The book of life reveals the love that we, like children, have searched for, longed for and expected from each other in vain. A love that has always been in all of us, but because we have remained like an infant waiting for the nourishment of that love from outside us, our world and our loved ones, we have not noticed it. Love is yourself, I am too.

Rahikainen understood all this and much more while living and writing the Book of Life. Therefore, it can also lead its readers to their own ultimate questions, and through them as well. Everything is possible in Life and love!
