"The narrator of the story said that he had heard a lot of talk that there are seven books of Moses, but the sixth and seventh are not shown or given to anyone but the highly educated priests. They get them when they graduate. Their doctrine is opposed to our Christianity and therefore their content is hidden from the public. In them the books have black pages with white letters. The name comes from the color of the pages."

For hundreds of years, European folklore has told stories of hidden witch books containing magical instructions. The most famous of these is the work published in 1849 under the name of the sixth and seventh books of Moses, which was compiled from older magic manuals, grimoires, circulating in Central Europe at that time. The book was translated into Finnish in 1902 under the name Black Bible. The book's translation has been revised throughout, and for the first time it includes an extensive introductory chapter on the book's sources and history.

"In the 1930s, a Finn lived in Lyngseidet in Northern Norway, Suutari-Johan, who owned the sixth and seventh books of Moses from 1913. Although he was rumored to be a sorcerer, he himself strongly believed that the book was from God and said that he had saved many lives with it. We find a completely opposite way of using the book in Helsinki's Tattarisuo from 1932. At that time, the same book, but under the name Black Bible, played a significant part in a case involving grave desecration, mutilation of corpses and a treasure hunt: under the leadership of Vilho Kallio - Witch-Kallio - they tried to exorcise curses and pieces of corpses Matti Haapoja's missing treasure from the source of Tattarisuo."
