Those books have black pages with white letters. The name comes from the color of the pages."

For hundreds of years, European folklore has told stories about secret witchcraft books containing magical instructions. The most famous of these is the work published in 1849 under the title The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, which is a compilation of older magical manuals, grimoires, that were circulating in Central Europe at the time. The book was translated into Finnish in 1902 under the title The Black Bible. The translation of the book has been revised throughout, and for the first time includes an extensive introductory chapter on the sources and history of the book.

"In the 1930s, a Finn named Suutari-Johan lived in Lyngseidet, Northern Norway, and owned a copy of the Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses from 1913. Although he was rumored to be a sorcerer, he himself strongly believed that the book was from God and said that he had saved many lives with it. We find a completely opposite way of using the book in Tattarisuo, Helsinki, from 1932. At that time, the same book, but under the name of the Black Bible, played a significant role in a case involving grave desecration, mutilation of bodies and treasure hunting: Under the leadership of Vilho Kallio - Noita-Kallio - an attempt was made to conjure up Matti Haapoja's lost treasure from the Tattarisuo spring using curses and body parts."
