Tingshats (ding-shat, cymbals) are musical instruments used in spiritual practices and during meditation at regular intervals to maintain concentration.

When the cymbals are struck together, a beautiful, clear, high-pitched sound is created that purifies the air and creates an extraordinary silence. The sparkling sound of the tingshas immediately resonates in the human heart. Their purpose is to call us to awareness, remind us of who we are, and identify our priorities in this often turbulent and misleading world. Each tingsha is individually sand cast and usually made primarily from brass (a metal alloy consisting primarily of copper and zinc) or bronze (an alloy of copper and tin).
