Eye of Horus ring in Lapis, antique gold
The story of Horus, the ancient Egyptian sky god depicted as a falcon, appears in the ancient Pyramid Texts. The 'Eye of Horus' arose from a historical battle between Horus and his father's jealous brother. In this battle, Horus lost his left eye. After his victory, he traveled across the sea to resurrect his father Osiris and offer him his sacrificed eye. This became a symbol of all sacrifice and appears throughout ancient Egyptian art.
Materials: Pewter with lapis lazuli stone.
