The brave nonfiction book places the "Nordic Mythology" sauna in the ground air as a microcosm of the ancient nature and forest people. Pohjola's knowledgeable mothers wake up from Ruususen's dream: the starting point of the work comparing matriarchal myths is the Nordic women's culture and the natural connection of reciprocity as a complement to the heroes of the Kalevala: baths were also thrown for the dead and elves. The goddesses of Air, Fire, Earth and Water get a new face. The author has illustrated the book with her own patchwork, giving faces to the owners of the sauna as well as the mothers and gods/fairies of Fire, Air, Water and Earth, as part of the mutual world view of the natural peoples.

Docent Kaarina Kailo (Ph.D. University of Toronto) is a cosmopolitan non-fiction writer, cultural researcher and IT artist.
